Visit Te Rata Family Farm

Would you like to pay us a visit at Te Rata Family Farm?

You're most welcome to come on one of our open days.

Our next open day is on Saturday 24 April 2010. We're opening the farm for you to come and have a look around, sample the atmosphere and some of the farm products and meet all the inhabitants here.

The farm will be open from 10 AM to 3.00 PM, with a sausage and bacon sizzle around midday. You'll also be able to purchase our free range bacon, sausage, ham and other pork cuts. Numbers are limited so register your attendance by email. Strong clean footwear is essential.

The farm visit is free of charge, however there will be an opportunity to make a donation to the Tearfund Gift for Life Project (www.giftforlife.co.nz/gift/). This project helps farmers in developing countries by providing training, basic materials, seeds and livestock. We look forward to meeting you on Saturday 24 April.

Te Rata Family Farm is a part of the international Wwoofer network (Willing Workers On Organic Farms - www.wwoof.co.nz) in which volunteers interested in learning about organic farming work in return for their accommodation and food.

We've had wonderful Wwoofers from all over New Zealand and the world stay with us and become part of the Te Rata family.
